Durham Region is advising residents of lane restrictions from today in multiple parts of Bowmanville in the Municipality of Clarington, as well on Dundas Street East in Whitby.

It said there will be lane restrictions on Liberty Street North (Regional Road 14) to safely install water and sanitary services in support of new development.

Restrictions will be day and night starting August 31 to September 4.

There will be north and southbound lane restrictions on Liberty Street North from Wellington Street to Carlisle Avenue in Bowmanville.

Bowmanville Avenue, Highway 2 and Stevens Road
The region also announced lane restrictions on Bowmanville Avenue (Regional Road 57), Durham Regional Highway 2 and Stevens Road in Bowmanville.

These will be from August 31 to September 30. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule, the region said.

They said lane restrictions will be in place in the following locations:

  • Intersection of Bowmanville Avenue and Regional Highway 2 to 200 metres north of Stevens Road.
  • 400 metres north of Stevens to 300 metres north of Nash Road.

These are needed to safely complete road rehabilitation and paving, the region said.

There are also lane restrictions on Dundas Street East in the Town of Whitby from today until September 4.

There will be westbound lane restrictions on Dundas Street East from Anderson Street to 70 metres east of Anderson Street, to safely disconnect a water service in support of new development.

The region said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
