Dog abandoned in suitcase, help find owner

Toronto Police is appealing for information after a dog was found abandoned in a suitcase on Saturday.

On January 4 at approximately 12 pm, police were called to an animal complaint near 4100 Dundas Street West by Dundas Street bridge.

It is reported members of the public discovered a black fabric suitcase near to the path of the Humber River Trail. The suitcase was zipped shut and inside was a female Jack Russell-mix dog. The dog, which was alive, had no collar or ID tag, said a media release.

The dog was taken to the vets to be checked over before going to a shelter

An image of the dog has been released in the hope that someone recognizes her or has information about the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-1100, police said.
