Dog, man found with gunshot wounds; dog dies of injuries

Durham Police are looking for a suspect after a shooting in Whitby on Thursday morning.

On October 31, at about 7:20 am, members of Central West Division attended the area of Mary Street East and Pine Street, Whitby for sounds of gunshots. Officers arrived on scene and located a dog that had been shot. The dog was transported to an emergency veterinary clinic, where he has since been pronounced deceased.

Information was later received; that a male attended a Toronto-area hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. The male was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
