Driver flees from car as officer approaches at stop

A 40-year-old male faces numerous charges after police seized a firearm during a traffic stop in Oshawa.

On Tuesday, June 28 at approximately 12:55 am, members of Central West Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Stevenson Road South and Creighton Avenue. The driver of the vehicle fled as officer approached to speak with him. Officers were able to catch up to the male and he was placed under arrest. The investigation continued and a loaded firearm was located and seized, police said.

The suspect from Toronto was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
