A driver has been spotted by Durham Police officers for having a child in the front seat without a seat belt.
Officers from Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) East Division stopped a vehicle last week in a community safety zone.
There was a young child in the front seat who was not secured with a seat belt, said a brief police statement.
It said the driver was not wearing a seat belt either.
“Seat belts save lives! Always wear your seat belt!” the statement said without giving any further details.
91kmh in a 50-zone
Meanwhile, Traffic Safety team officers from the DRPS Central East Division reminded road users to abide by the speed limit signs.
The advisory was issued after officers caught a driver doing 91kmh in a 50-zone.
This is considered stunt driving and with it comes a licence suspension and vehicle impound, the officers pointed out.
