Drugs, cash and gun seized during search in Pickering

A 32-year-old Pickering man is facing charges following the seizure of drugs, a loaded firearm and currency during a search warrant.

On Thursday, July 8, members from the Gun and Gang Unit concluded a drug trafficking investigation. With the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, the Gun and Gang Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Pickerin Parkway. During the search, officers seized a loaded handgun, ammunition, approximately $10,000 cash, cocaine and fentanyl worth an estimated $110,000.

Mario Malcolm, age 32 of Pickering Parkway, in Pickering, is facing numerous charges including: Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000; Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited Firearm No Licence or Registration; Possession of a Loaded Prohibited/Restricted Firearm; Possession Contrary to Prohibition Order x3; Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence or Registration and Possession of Schedule I for Purpose of Trafficking x2 (cocaine and fentanyl).

He was held for a bail hearing.
