Durham covid count at 1,075; deaths at 128

Durham Region Health Department on Sunday said 1,075 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the region since February 29.

On Sunday, the count had stood at 1,046.

Of the total cases, 41 are hospitalized, of which four are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Deaths total 128, of which 110 were in long term care homes (LTCH). Recoveries number 552.

Durham Health yesterday updated the overall community-wide covid breakdown. The highest number of cases at 414 were in Pickering followed by 276 in Ajax and 177 in Oshawa.

Death Toll:

  • Of the 68 reported deaths in Pickering, 66 were in LTCH
  • Of the 29 reported deaths in Ajax, 26 were in LTCH
  • Two deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH]
  • Of the 19 reported deaths in Oshawa, 14 were in LTCH
  • Six deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
  • Four deaths in LTCH were reported in Uxbridge
  • No deaths have been reported in Scugog or Brock
