Durham Region Health Department on Sunday said 1,046 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the region since February 29.
On Saturday, the count had stood at 1,020.
Of the total cases, 42 are hospitalized, of which four are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Deaths total 123, of which 106 were in long term care homes (LTCH). Recoveries number 542.
Durham Health yesterday updated the overall community-wide covid breakdown. The highest number of cases at 401 were in Pickering followed by 270 in Ajax and 171 in Oshawa.
Death Toll:
- Of the 65 reported deaths in Pickering, 63 were in LTCH
- Of the 29 reported deaths in Ajax, 26 were in LTCH
- Two deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH]
- Of the 17 reported deaths in Oshawa, 13 were in LTCH
- Six deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
- Four deaths in LTCH were reported in Uxbridge
- No deaths have been reported in Scugog or Brock
