The count on April 5 had stood at 232 cases.
Of the total 244 cases, 34 are hospitalized. There have been 16 deaths. Forty-two people have recovered fully, Durham Health said.
Durham Health yesterday updated the community-wide breakdown with the highest number of cases [72] in Oshawa followed by 57 in Ajax and 41 in Whitby.
