Durham covid-related deaths at 100

Durham Region Health Department yesterday said Covid-19 related deaths have hit the 100 mark.

Overall, there have been 923 cases of Covid-19 reported in the region since February 29. Yesterday [April 27], the count had stood at 899 cases.

Of the total, 33 are hospitalized, of which four are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

There have been 100 deaths, of which 83 were in long term care homes. Recoveries number 417.

Durham Health yesterday updated the overall community-wide covid breakdown. The highest number of cases at 347 were in Pickering followed by 248 in Ajax and 150 in Oshawa.

Note: The data were extracted from the integrated Public Health Information System at 1 pm yesterday.
