Durham driver on cellphone + kid in car = $615 fine

No matter how many times Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) keeps sending the message of road safety out, some Durham driver drivers hardly ever pay heed – at their expense as this one (image above) found out.

DRPS Traffic Services yesterday said they were monitoring traffic on Kingston Road and Brock Road in the City of Pickering out in front of DRPS West Division headquarter.

“I observed the driver talking away on a cell phone (yellow) with a small child in the back (red),” said the reporting officer.

“Jeopardizing yourself and others will result in a $615 fine and demerit points for first offence, the officer pointed out.

No further details were released.
