Durham Health adds three new covid deaths, 74 cases

At the end of December, the total case count had stood at 35,663, at 50,241 in January, and 53,117 in February, according to figures posted by Durham Health.

Durham’s overall death toll stands at 448 with 241 long-term care (LTC) deaths. One non-LTC death each was reported for Whitby and Oshawa, and one LTC death in Clarington.

Recoveries stand at 53,680. However, there are 350 active covid cases. Figures for hospitalizations and Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and people in home isolation, were not available.

Durham Health reported the highest overall number of covid cases so far in Ajax, with Oshawa a close second.

Covid Deaths: 448

Of the 132 reported deaths in Pickering, 91 were in LTC
Of the 81 reported deaths in Ajax, 34 were in LTC
Of the 73 reported deaths in Whitby, 33 in LTC
Of the 83 reported deaths in Oshawa, 43 were in LTC
29 deaths were reported in Clarington, five in LTC
28 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 21 in LTC
18 deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
4 deaths have been reported in Brock
