The City of Pickering will host Ontario’s Big City Mayors annual general meeting (AGM) and conference today (Thursday April 16th) and tomorrow (Friday April 17th).
The mayors will be meeting to discuss municipal priorities including housing, infrastructure and the homelessness, mental health and addictions crisis along with special guests and experts.
Below is a list of some of the mayors participating in the news conference:
● Mayor Marianne Meed Ward of Burlington – Chair of OBCM
● Mayor Kevin Ashe- Host Mayor of OBCM AGM & Conference
● Mayor Alex Nuttall of Barrie – Vice-Chair of OBCM
● Mayor Cam Guthrie of Guelph – Past Chair of OBCM
● Mayor Elizabeth Roy of Whitby – Secretary of OBCM
● Additional OBCM Mayors
They will meet at Pickering Casino Resort.
Ontario’s Big City Mayors (OBCM) is a non-partisan organization that includes mayors of 29 single and
lower-tier cities with a population of 100,000 or more, who collectively represent nearly 70 per cent of
Ontario’s population and almost 30 per cent of Canada’s population. OBCM advocates for issues and policies
important to Ontario’s largest cities.
