Durham police seeks your help to identify serial burglars

Durham police are looking for two separate sets of suspects for breaking and entering in Clarington and Oshawa.

The first set of suspects involves three people breaking into eight (8) commercial businesses and restaurants in Oshawa and Clarington.

Oshawa: The second set of slingshot suspects are two men, accused of breaking into Great Hobbies twice in Oshawa.

On June 17, around 4 am, two men broke into Great Hobbies located at 991 Taunton Road East in Oshawa.

The suspects used a slingshot style weapon to fire a projectile at the front of the business breaking the glass front door. The suspects stole over $7,000 worth of remote-controlled vehicles before fleeing the area in a white Honda Odyssey van.

On Friday, June 26, at around 4:40 am, yet again, the same suspects returned and used the same method to break into the business again. The suspects stole over $3,000 worth of remote-controlled vehicles before fleeing the area in a black Volkswagen Jetta.

The first suspect is described as: male, Brown, approximately 6’ tall, 30-40 years-old, with a slim build.

The second suspect is described as: male, Brown, approximately 5’10” tall, 20-30 years-old, with a medium build.

Three Suspects

Police are also looking for at least 3 suspects after eight businesses and restaurants were broken into in Oshawa and Clarington.

Between Tuesday, June 16 and Wednesday, June 24, a group of at least 2-3 suspects broke into eight commercial businesses and restaurants in Oshawa and Clarington, including:

– June 16 at Waltzing Weasel, located at 300 Taunton Road East in Oshawa

– June 17 at Bulldog Pub, located at 600 Grandview Street South in Oshawa

– June 17 at Pho Vietnam Restaurant, located at 299 King Street West in Oshawa

– June 20 at Joey’s World Playground, located at 330 Lake Road in Clarington

– June 22 at Friendly Greek, located at 646 King Street East in Oshawa

– June 24 at Tyrone Mill, located 62656 Concession Road 7 in Clarington

– June 24 at Toadstool Pub, located at 701 Grandview Street North in Oshawa

– June 24 2026, at Jack and Joe’s Pub, located at 570 Longworth Avenue in Clarington

The suspects gained entry to the businesses by breaking glass doors and windows and stole cash, safes, tills, and other products.

In several incidents a red sedan is used to transport the suspects.
