Electronic open house for planned Pickering towers

Pickering residents have been invited to participate in an electronic open house on the planned 4-tower development at Smart Centres along Brock Road.

The Electronic Public Open House will be held on Wednesday, August 19 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. Residents can visit YouTube.com/SustainablePickering to watch live.

This will be followed by a Statutory Public Information Meeting at a later date.

The Electronic Public Open House will provide interested parties the ability to learn more about the proposal and provide any comments.

How to participate: Though deadline for those wishing to speak, passed yesterday, residents can still email socialmedia@pickering.ca with questions in advance of, or during the meeting. “We cannot guarantee that every question will be addressed live but staff will respond to all inquiries within 2 business days,” said a city statement.

The applicant is proposing to redevelop the lands for a phased mixed-use development consisting of 4 residential towers containing a total of 1,678 dwelling units and 3,670 square metres of commercial uses. Phase 1 represents the westerly portion of Block 1 adjacent to Brock Road to be developed with two towers ranging in height from 33 to 34 storeys, connected by a 4-storey shared podium, containing 737 dwelling units and 1,346 square metres of grade related commercial uses, the statement said.
