Enjoy free parking at Uxbridge trail heads on June 6-7

All parking at trail heads in Uxbridge township will be free on June 6 and 7 in honour of Trail Discovery Day.

The township is inviting you to join guided walks, interactive exhibits, and local experts for a day of nature, learning, and community on the trails. The event also features live entertainment, games and activities for kids:

  • Meet the exhibitors and learn about trails, nature, and ways to explore the trail network
  • Get up close and personal with live aquatic creatures at North Durham Nature’s table
  • Grab an event passport and collect stickers for a prize!
  • Take the Trail Trivia Challenge. How many answers can you find?
  • Explore Ontario Park’s touch table and talk to a Park ranger
  • Talk to groups who can lead you on an adventure
  • Learn how to property fit a bike helmet with an expert
  • Learn about Uxbridge’s trail rescue program and how to stay safe on trails
  • Talk to experts about Trail Head parking passes and the Trail Sustainability Program
  • Check your bike tire pressure and learn what pressure is optimal for the surface you are riding
  • Enjoy free coffee from Red Bulb Expresso Bar (while supplies last)
  • Play fun park games with Uxbridge Summer Camp staffers
  • Meet the 4-legged guests in the horse corral and learn about horse riding on trails
  • Find a map for local trail loops and insider tips for the best locations
  • Learn about road cycling loops, mountain biking trails and gravel riding loops
  • Talk to experts about ticks and related illnesses
Schedule of Activities

10am – Enjoy live music from the USS Jazz ensemble
10:30am – join to celebrate Accessibility Week with a .5 km accessible walk on the fitness trail in Elgin Park. Suitable for all ages and abilities.
11am – 12 noon – participate in a 30-minute guided walk on the Forest Therapy Trail. Walks occurring every 15 minutes.
11am – Pond Walk – join North Durham Nature for a short walk to Elgin Pond to learn about Pond Life
11:30am – participate in a nature walk led by a nature interpreter to learn about ‘Four Lives of a Tree’
11:30 – join our celebration of trail volunteers and thank them for their hard work
11:00 – 12:30 – Live music featuring Delta Moon

The event features free parking and free admission. Please consider walking, rolling or cycling to the event. Supervised and secure bicycle parking is available.  Come and explore how Uxbridge’s trail network connects different kinds of nature lovers and outdoor explorers!

The fun starts at 10am and wraps up at 1pm in Elgin Park.
