Extracted driver airlifted to Toronto after crashing into trees

A 47-year-old man was airlifted to a Toronto area trauma hospital following a single motor vehicle collision in Uxbridge.

Alcohol may have been a factor in this collision, police said.

On Friday, July 19 at about 5:17 pm, members of North Division responded to the report of a single motor vehicle collision on Uxbridge Concession Road 7, south of Chalk Lake Road.

A white GMC Sierra, driven by a 47-year-old male, was travelling southbound when it lost control, failed to negotiate the curve, entered the east ditch, and struck some trees. The driver was extracted by Uxbridge Fire Services and airlifted via Air Ornge to a Toronto area trauma centre, said a police report.

The road was closed for several hours while members of the Collision Investigation Unit investigated the collision and are still investigating the cause of the collision.
