Clarington auctioning lands with bids starting below $50,000

The Municipality of Clarington has announced the sale by auction of two plots of land in Bowmanville and Newcastle at a minimum bid of below $50,000.

The assessed value of the lands are $435,000 and 294,000, according to the municipality.

The first plot is located at 66 William Jose Court in Newcastle. “According to the last returned assessment roll, the assessed value of the land is $435,000. Minimum tender amount: $47,887.62,” said a municipal statement.

The second plot of land is located at 1 Lockhart Gate in Bowmanville. “According to the last returned assessment roll, the assessed value of the land is $294,000. Minimum tender amount: $94,432.01,” it said.

Tenders are invited for the purchase of the lands described and will be received until 3 pm local time on August 22, at the Municipal Administration Centre, 40 Temperance Street, Bowmanville, Ontario.

The tenders will then be opened in public on the same day as soon as possible after 3 pm at the same location, the municipal statement said.
