Durham Police yesterday said a female was transported to a local area hospital after being struck in the head following a robbery in Oshawa.
On Thursday, July 11 at about 2 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a commercial robbery at a store, located at Simcoe Street North, in Oshawa.
The suspect entered the business and stole three Pokémon game cards worth approximately $5,000. An employee chased the suspect when he fled the store, but was struck by the suspect with a hard object. Police searched the area but did not locate the suspect, said a report.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital.
On Friday, July 12, members of Central East Division located the suspect and took him into custody.
The man, age 41 of no fixed address is charged with: Theft Under $5000. Hs name is available at www.drps.ca.
