Gun and drugs worth $100,000 seized from 22-year old

A 22-year-old Oshawa man has been arrested and charged following an investigation into drug trafficking and illegal firearms by the DRPS.

On Wednesday, January 15, officers arrested the suspect at a shopping plaza near Laval Drive and Stevenson Road South. During the arrest, police reportedly found a loaded semi-automatic firearm in his jacket.

Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence in the area of Dean Avenue and Normandy Street. Officers seized an over-capacity magazine, about 240 grams of cocaine, and over 350 grams of fentanyl, with an estimated street value exceeding $100,000.

A 22-year-old male of Oshawa was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
