Police seeking five suspects afer youth hurt in shooting

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) is searching for five suspects after a youth was injured in a shooting on Tuesday night in Pickering.

According to police, officers from West Division responded to reports of a shooting near Kingston Road and Valley Farm Road at about 10:05 pm on January 14. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center and has since been released with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators revealed that the shooting took place in a residential complex at 1580 Kingston Road. Police also discovered a residence in the complex had been struck by gunfire. No additional physical injuries were reported.

The suspects fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival. Descriptions of the suspects have been released:

  • Suspect #1: Wearing a dark-colored hooded sweater, dark pants, and black shoes.
  • Suspect #2: Wearing a light-colored sweater with dark shoulders and dark pants.
  • Suspect #3: Wearing a grey sweater and grey pants.
  • Suspect #4: Wearing a white jacket, dark pants, and bright shoes.
  • Suspect #5: Wearing a white hat, grey jacket, grey pants, and black shoes.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage—such as home surveillance or dashcam video—from the residential complex or nearby shopping plaza at 1550 Kingston Road between 9:45 pm and 10:20 pm to come forward.
