Firmland plans to build new townhouses in Ajax

The Town of Ajax yesterday announced it is in receipt of development applications, submitted by Firmland (Cedar) Inc., proposing the development of 20, three-storey back-to-back townhouse dwellings with a private condominium lane.

The proposed development pertains to the vacant portion of lands municipally known as 3-73 Cedar Street, located at the southeast corner of Knapton Avenue and Cedar Street.

The purpose of the Official Plan Amendment Application (OPA21-A1) is to permit an increase in density and to permit the proposed built form. The purpose of the Zoning By-law Amendment Application (Z2/21) is to permit the proposed built form and to set site-specific development standards to facilitate the proposed development. The purpose of the Site Plan Application (SP8/21) is to review and examine the design and technical aspects of the proposed development. The Draft Plan of Condominium Application (C-A-2021-02) will establish the common elements condominium tenure for the proposed development, said a town statement.

The town is inviting residents to attend a public open house to learn more about this development proposal, identify any concerns, and to provide comments. The public open house will be held electronically on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 7-9 pm.
