First degree murder charge for Oshawa homicide

Durham Police said a 32-year-old male is facing a first degree murder charge after a male was located deceased with obvious signs of trauma in a residence in Oshawa.

On Friday, January 27, at approximately 9:45 am, members of Central East Division responded to an address on Drew Street after receiving a request to check on the wellbeing of a male. Upon arrival, police discovered the victim without vital signs and suffering from significant trauma. He was pronounced deceased, said a police statement.

A male was arrested at the scene without incident and is now facing murder charges.

The coroner attended and ordered an autopsy. The identity of the victim is known. However, investigators are waiting for the completion of the post-mortem examination prior to the release of his information.
