First homicide of 2022: Shot man found in car

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday found a victim of a shooting which could be the first homicide case of 2022.

A 20-year-old male died after being found with obvious signs of trauma on a residential street in Oshawa, police said.

On Monday, January 3, at approximately 9:42 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a call on Madison Avenue for a male found with obvious signs of trauma. Police arrived to find the male victim without vital signs in a white Toyota vehicle. The victim was rushed to a local hospital but later died. Homicide and Forensic investigators were called to the scene.
