Five covid deaths in Durham during November

Durham Health yesterday reported a total of five covid-related deaths during the month of November.

It also posted  93 new covid cases for November 30 bringing the region’s total to 4,575 cases since the count began on February 29.

Recoveries stand at 3,920, up by 83. There were 468 active covid cases in Durham.

  • Thirty-seven new cases in Oshawa
  • Twenty-one in Ajax
  • Twelve in Pickering
  • Ten in Clarington, and
  • Five in Whitby
  • Thirty-one cases are under investigation

Eighteen cases are hospitalized with three in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 450 people in home isolation.

Deaths so far total 187, of which 157 were in long term care homes (LTCH). The month’s covid-related death was announced on November 30, 29, 28, 25; and November 10.

Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 1,402 in Ajax, followed by 1,119 in Pickering.

Death Toll: Two new deaths in Whitby LTCH

Of the 89 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH
Of the 39 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTCH
Seven deaths were reported in Whitby, three in LTCH
Of the 23 reported deaths in Oshawa, 15 were in LTCH
Eight deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
21 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTCH
No deaths have been reported in Scugog
No deaths have been reported in Brock
