Motel gun call reveals ‘five young persons’ in drugs ring

Durham Police investigators have arrested several suspects and seized a quantity of drugs after responding to a gun call at a Whitby Motel on Sunday.

On January 30, members of Central West Division responded to a gun call at the Motel 6 on Consumers Drive. Police located a vehicle attempting to leave the premise. Further investigation led to the arrest of an 18-year-old, a 20-year-old and five young persons. Police seized a quantity of cocaine, cannabis, psilocybin and methamphetamine. Police also executed a search warrant and recovered an imitation firearm.

Five have been charged, three of whom are from Oshawa, one from Peterborough and one from Clarington. Further details of names, arrests and charges are available at www.drps.ca.
