Gas station robbed of cash with… windshield wiper

Durham Police investigators have arrested a male suspect for a robbery of a gas station in Whitby Tuesday evening.

On February 1 at about 6:55 pm, members of Central West Division were called to the Petro Canada gas station on Paisley Court for a robbery. The suspect entered the store and made a demand for cash while brandishing a windshield wiper. The suspect took cash and fled on foot, said a police statement.

The victim didn’t receive any physical injuries. Officers searched the area, and located the suspect at a nearby motel.

The 25-year old of No Fixed Address is charged with: Robbery; Weapons Dangerous and Disguise with Intent. He was held for a bail hearing. Further details are available at www.drps.ca.
