Fight with golf club and knife fight in Whitby

Two men are facing charges after an altercation occurred in Whitby involving a knife and a golf club.

On Saturday, April 18, at about 3 pm, officers were dispatched to a report of a physical altercation between two males in the Dundas Street and McQuay Boulevard area. Responding officers located a victim with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to hospital via ambulance, police said.

Officers located the suspect nearby and he was taken into custody. He was found to have sustained injuries during the altercation as well. It is believed he was struck with a golf club by the stabbing victim, they added.

The two men were known to each other and this is not considered a random attack.

A 19-year-old male from Ajax has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous. He was held for a bail hearing.

A 31-year-old male from Whitby has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous. He is currently in hospital being treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
