Pickup doing 159 kph… reason: late for dinner

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday announced a strange one – an almost believable excuse for speeding — hunger!

While on a routine patrol DRPS traffic officers on Sunday clocked a pickup doing 159 km in posted 80 km zone near Lakeridge Road in Scugog.

Reason- Late for dinner.

Police said the driver was charged with stunt driving, a 7-day licence suspension and vehicle impound.

Of course, the driver had to make do with a cold dinner.
