Gun seized after shooting in Pickering, one held

Durham Police seized a firearm and arrested a suspect after a shooting in Pickering over the weekend.

On Sunday, September 25 at about 4 pm, members from West Division were dispatched to a shooting call in the area of Spruce Hill Road. Police arrived to find shell casings, but the suspects fled from the area. Police conducted a traffic stop of a suspect vehicle and the driver was arrested. Police seized cannabis, a handgun and ammunition. There are no reported injuries at this time. The investigation is still ongoing, said a police statement.

The suspect from Toronto has been charged and was held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
