Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said gunshots were reported to have been heard in Whitby.
Officers from DRPS Central West Division responded to Thickson Road and Dryden Blvd for the sound of gunshots overnight.
Police searched the area but no evidence was located.
