A 36-year-old male is facing charges after a female was assaulted tied up and shot with a pellet gun in Oshawa.
On March 25, at about 2:30 pm a utility worker was approached by a female in the area of Erie Street and Simcoe Street South in Oshawa. The female had her hands tied up and was in distress. Officers responded quickly and located a residence where the female escaped from, said a police media release.
The female disclosed that she went to a residence in the area and once inside, she was assaulted and tied up for several hours by an ex-boyfriend. The female also had some previous wounds from being shot by a pellet gun on two separate occasions, police said.
The female was taken to a local hospital for her injuries, they added.
Officers with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit and K-9 arrested the suspect and cleared the residence to ensure the safety of any other occupants.
A 36-year-old male of Oshawa, is charged with: Assault; Forcible Confinement; Assault with a Weapon x2; Discharge Air Gun with Intent to Wound x2; Use Imitation Firearm x2; Weapons Dangerous x2 and Fail to Comply with Probation x2. He was held for a bail hearing. His name is withheld to protect the identity of the female.
