Help find pilot of this plane + another Oshawa man missing

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) is calling out to the public to help find a missing 73-year-old pilot from Oshawa.

Police said the missing male departed from the Oshawa Airport at 8:30 am on August 14.

David, age 73, is an experienced pilot and departed the airport in a single home-built aircraft and was expected to return at 9:30 am.

He is described as: male, 5’7” tall, with a slim build. He has black/grey hair and a moustache.

The aircraft is described as a blue and yellow single home-built aircraft.

Police said David typically flies in the area south of Kawartha Lakes township and north of Lake Scugog. However, the last known location of the aircraft is believed to be around Balsam Lake.

DRPS said it is working with the Ontario Provincial Police and the Trenton Joint Rescue Coordination Centre who are assisting in the search for the missing male.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of this male or that has any information is asked to contact their local police service or DRPS’ Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1805.

Police are also requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 68-year-old vulnerable male last seen in the Simcoe Street North and Taunton Road East area at 12:30 pm yesterday.

Matthew is described as male, White, slim build with white/grey hair. He was wearing a blue t-shirt, beige shorts and sandals.
