The driver responsible for a single vehicle collision in Whitby that injured all occupants in the vehicle, is now facing several charges.
On Thursday, May 28 at about 5:30 am, members of Central West Division responded to a single vehicle collision near Myrtle Road West and Duffs Road. A Toyota Rav4 was travelling eastbound on Myrtle Road when it lost control and went off the roadway, ejecting at least two occupants from the vehicle.
An 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old male were transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries. A 16-year-old female was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries. A 14-year-old male suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local-area hospital.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
On Thursday, August 13, members of the Collision Investigation Unit concluded their investigation and arrested the driver of the Toyota without incident.
The driver, age 18 from Whitby was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
