Help name the new 200-bed care home in Pickering

The Region of Durham is building a new long-term care home in the City of Pickering, with support from the Province of Ontario.

This 200-bed home will be in Seaton community, which is located between Brock Road and Whites Road in Pickering. Projected to open in fall 2026, it will offer common spaces (a bank, store, hair salon, worship centre and fitness area); a main space for resident social interactions; and a dementia-friendly design.

To help capture the spirit of Seaton, community members are invited to weigh in to help shape the future of their community. Residents and community members will have an opportunity to vote on names brought forward, by local community members, during a recent information session.

All feedback will be reviewed and taken into consideration, said a region statement adding that residents can vote online at Your Durham until July 29.
