Help police find youth gang that used noxious spray and stole

Durham police yesterday asked for the public’s assistance in their search for at least six males after they stole a bicycle and sprayed another group of males with a noxious substance.

On April 25 at about 8:40 pm, a group of four males were approached by another group of at least six males in the area of Cedar Street and Thomas Street in Oshawa.

The victims were playing basketball when the larger group of males approached them and sprayed a noxious substance similar to bear spray, forcing the victims to flee the area. The suspects were last seen running north toward Cedar Street and Wentworth Street West, after stealing one of the victim’s bicycles, said the police.

The suspects are described as: male, 16-20 years-old, all wearing ski masks, all wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with cellphone, dash cam, surveillance footage, or any information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst. Cole of the Central East Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 x 1705.
