73-year old on dirt bike seriously hurt after hitting tree

A 73-year old senior was involved in a dirt bike collision in Clarington, said Durham police. He is in stable but serious condition.

On Friday, May 15 around 11 am, members of East Division responded to a single vehicle accident on the unmaintained section of Boundary Road near Enfield Road.

The 73-year-old man was driving his dirt bike eastbound on the unmaintained portion of Boundary Road near Enfield Road when he lost control and struck a tree off the roadway/trail. He was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center where he remains in serious but stable condition, police said.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
