Yet another water shutdown to hit Ajax till morning

The Region of Durham is advising residents of a water service interruption on Kingston Road in the Town of Ajax.

The water service interruption will be on Kingston Road East (Regional Highway 2), from Harwood Avenue (Regional Road 44) to Trott Lane.

It will be from today (May 19) starting at about 5 pm to May 20 till around 8 am In the event of rain, the work will be rescheduled to the following day, the region said.

It said the water connection is required to service a new watermain along Kingston Road. To safely complete the work, a temporary shutdown of the water supply system is required.

This work is part of the construction for the second segment of Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit (DSBRT).

There was also a water outage south of Kingston Road East (Regional Highway 2) to Mandrake Street, between Harwood Road and Salem Road, in Ajax on May 8. The region said construction activity in the area affected the water supply.
