Retired human remains detective PSD Riot passes away

The K9 unit of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) has announced the passing away of retired Police Service Dog (Riot).

“It is with great sadness that the DRPS K9 Unit announces the passing of retired PSD Riot.”

The DRPS veteran passed away at the age of 13 this past week with his family by his side.

Riot was trained in general patrol and human remains detection and served the citizens of Durham Region for seven years.

DRPS concluded their post with saying how much they will miss Riot and thanked him for his years of service.
