All lakeshore, except Clarington, now has paid parking

Paid parking at $20 a day has come into effect since yesterday at  Oshawa’s Lakeview Park and Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park.

This marks the further east creeping up of paid parking along the lakeshore. Only Clarington continues to offer free parking off its beaches.

The City of Oshawa said waterfront paid parking is in effect annually from May 15 to October 15 on weekends, public holidays (Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day and Thanksgiving Day) and during city-led events to help manage demand, improve parking availability and support ongoing waterfront maintenance.

Free parking for registered residents

Oshawa residents can continue to park at no cost by registering their vehicle(s) for a free Waterfront Parking Permit.

Residents who have not yet registered for the free parking permit can still apply online or in-person. It may take up to three days for permits to be processed, so residents are encouraged to register in advance of visiting the waterfront.

Paid parking for unregistered vehicles

Non-residents and vehicles without a valid Waterfront Parking Permit are required to pay a flat rate of $20 per day on weekends, public holidays and during city events.

Parking payment options include:

Parking meters available on-site
HonkMobile; download the app through Apple or Google Play stores
