Beaverton in the Township of Brock is to see another building going up if the developer’s applications are approved.
The township recently announced a project for 36 townhouses, semis and singles planned for Beaverton (see below).
The most recent plan is proposing a three-storey mixed use building with one commercial unit and private amenity space for the residential units on the ground floor and 10 residential units on the second and third floors, with 23 parking spaces.
On August 18, 2022, an application to amend Zoning By-law 287-78-PL was received by the township on behalf of 2796764 Ontario Inc. (the owner). This application was submitted to request site specific provisions to facilitate the development at 482 Osborne Street, south of Wood Street.
The original proposal was a three-storey mixed use building with three commercial units on the ground floor and eight residential units on the second and third floors, with 16 parking spaces, the township said.
The purpose of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment application is to rezone the property to permit additional uses and to address site specific lot regulations, such as setbacks and height.
The lot is currently vacant and there are commercial, residential, vacant (future residential) adjacent. The property is serviced with municipal water and sanitary servicing.
A statutory public meeting for the ZBA application was held on March 26, 2025.
The staff report on May 12 recommended the applications be approved by the township council.
