Whitby yesterday issued a call to bands, buskers and musicians to apply to the annual call for performers for the Town’s 2020 events and festivals.
“Nearly 70,000 people had the opportunity to enjoy this year’s talented performers through our 2019 events,” said Mayor Don Mitchell. “As our events continue to grow, we look forward to selecting even more talented local performers to showcase.”
Selected performers will have the opportunity to be featured at the Town’s 2020 events, including Music in the Park, Canada Day, Brooklin Harvest Festival, Open Streets and Culture in the Square.
Applications can be submitted online at whitby.ca/callforperformers. The deadline for applications is 4 pm on Monday, March 2, 2020.
To be considered, applicants must complete the Expression of Interest application form and provide a three to four sentence biography, sample song list, promotional video and link to a website or live performance. Artists will be selected by a judging panel and only those successful will be contacted by mid-April 2020.
