Two held for daylight shooting in Oshawa

Two suspects have been arrested for a shooting incident in Oshawa in September, Durham Police said.

Investigators identified both suspects involved in the September 24 shooting, on Whiting Avenue in Oshawa that left a 42-year-old male with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

On Friday, September 27, Darryl Heather, age 33 of Malaga Road in Oshawa was arrested and is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle; Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Order x4 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2. He was held for a bail hearing.

On Tuesday, October 15, Marcus Charles, age 25 of No Fixed Address was arrested and is charged with 21 criminal charges including: Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition; Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x4 (cocaine,fentanyl,oxycontin); Careless Storage of Firearm; Pointing a Firearm and Aggravated Assault. He was held for a bail hearing.

During the arrest of Charles, a loaded firearm and a quantity of drugs were seized from the suspect’s vehicle.
