Holiday Miracle: No one was injured in this crash

DRPS Traffic Services yesterday posted a report about a seemingly horrific crash, in which – miraculously – no one was injured.

However, the driver was charged with being impaired behind the wheel.

“It’s not something to celebrate, but the driver of this vehicle [top image] was the RIDE team’s 100th arrest for impaired driving,” said police.

“Miraculously, there were no injuries as a result of this idiocy,” they added.

No further details were released.

MADD Durham Region said while RIDE happens all year long, its members were out with DRPS Traffic Services (image below) for the final line of the festive season on Sunday.

“It is never okay to drive impaired by alcohol or drugs and we thank the officers for being out all year round to ensure our roads are kept safe,” it added.

Respect Bus Lanes

Meanwhile, the Region of Durham has reminded motorists that reserved bus-only lanes in Town of Ajax are for Durham Transit and GO Transit buses unless you need to safely turn right (image below).
