Bowmanville stabbing suspect named, cops ask for surrender

Police have identified the suspect believed to be responsible for a stabbing in Bowmanville last weekend. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

On Sunday July 7 at 9:40 pm, police responded to an armed person call in the area of Queen Street and Temperance Street in Bowmanville.

A 33-year-old male had been stabbed multiple times by a male suspect who fled the scene on a bicycle. The suspect was seen heading north on Temperance Street. The victim was taken to a Toronto trauma centre where he remains in critical condition.

James Howard, age 29 of NFA, will be charged with: Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for Committing an Offence.

Investigators would like Howard to contact a lawyer and turn himself in.

It is an offence for any friend or acquaintance to aid and abet him while he is wanted by police. If you know of Howard’s whereabouts, please call police to report such information.
