Knife-wielding robber gets away with cigarettes

Durham Police investigators are looking for a male suspect in an armed robbery of a convenience store in Cannington Wednesday night.

On February 3 at about 8 pm, members of North Division were called to the Cannington Convenience store on Cameron Street West in Cannington. The suspect who was armed with a knife, entered the store and made a demand for cigarettes. The suspect took a large bag of cigarettes then left the store and drove off in a vehicle.

The victim didn’t receive any physical injuries. Officers searched the area, with negative results.

The suspect is described as male, slim build, 5’8″ tall. He was wearing a black coat, black pants and wore a Halloween mask to cover his face. The suspect was armed with a large knife. There is no vehicle descriptors at this time.
