Man charged after three-month child porn inquiry

Durham Police yesterday said a 61-year-old male from Oshawa is facing child pornography charges after police executed a search warrant.

In March, members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) began an investigation involving an Oshawa male who was sharing child pornography on the Internet. During the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 24, members of the ICE Unit along with members of FIS and Technical Services, executed a search warrant on Malaga Road in Oshawa, said a police statement.

As a result of the search warrant, a 61-year-old male was taken into custody and is facing charges. During the search warrant officers seized 17 electronic devices from the accused.

The suspect of Oshawa has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography and Make Available Child Pornography.
