Why the book was thrown at this driver…

A driver in Durham seemed to have incurred the wrath of Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) going by the slew of penalties he accumulated from a single stop.

The unnamed driver was given a $2,000 fine, a 30-day driving licence suspension, a 14-day vehicle impound, as well as a chance to appear in court.

DRPS said its East Division officers were in the area of Holt Road and Clarington Concession Road 7 at Enniskillen, when they spotted a speeding car.

They stopped the vehicle, which was recorded doing 113kmh in a 70-zone. It was 43kmh over the speed limit.
