Man charged with sex assault, making child porn

A Whitby man has been arrested and faces numerous charges in a sexual assault investigation.

On September 10, members of the DRPS Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) section executed a warrant search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation. Upon the analysis of the accused’s electronic devices and a lengthy investigation, he is facing numerous charges. The offences are dated from 1999 to 2020, said a police statement.

Michael Ball, age 55, of Rossland Road in Whitby, faces numerous charges including: Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Making Child Pornography, Possessing Child Pornography, Accessing Child Pornography and Voyeurism. He was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims as the accused has resided in Oshawa and Bowmanville.
