Man commits indecent act while asking directions

A 22-year-old Oshawa man has been arrested following an indecent act in the city.

On Wednesday, May 11 at about 11:30 pm, the suspect who was driving in the area of Thornton Road north of King Street West, approached a 17-year-old female pedestrian and asked for directions. The male was performing an indecent act during the interaction. The victim ran away and contacted police. The suspect drove off, said a police report.

Investigators from Central West Division identified the suspect and he was arrested on Thursday, June 9.

He has been charged with Indecent Act in a Public Place and Fail to Comply with Release Order. He was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims.
